Live Auction Online - Check Out a Computer Auction for Peripherals and Parts
Check Out a Computer Auction for Peripherals and Parts
With the ever-changing field of technology, a computer auction
isn’t likely to be a great place to find up-to-date computers. But it
is an excellent opportunity for peripherals and parts for your own
computer.
Of course, this isn’t always the case. Sometimes, a computer auction is
a way for companies and manufacturers to clear out merchandise that
hasn’t sold or to sell out overruns of particular models. In many
cases, the computers may be hot off the assembly line or no more than a
few months old. While you’ll find that some of the technology has
already been replaced (isn’t that the way it always goes!), there’s
also an opportunity to upgrade your existing equipment at a fraction of
the price you’d expect to pay.
Remember to take time to check out everything you plan to bid on before
you bid. Most of the time, the items you buy at a computer auction go
“as is.” That means there will be no warranty and no return, and you’ll
be left holding the bag if you buy something that simply doesn’t work.
If you’re looking for peripherals – monitors, keyboards and the like –
this could be a great place for you. When people upgrade computers,
they tend to upgrade everything. That means that monitors and other
items that still work fine my be offered at a fraction of the price
you’d expect to pay. If possible, ask that monitors be plugged in to be
sure they work, check out keyboards for sticky keys, and do your best
to protect yourself before you bid.
In addition to these opportunities, many vendors take the opportunity
of auctions to set up stalls and offer their wares for sale. This is
true of the computer auction as well. Typically, there will be vendors
with all the latest gadgets and gizmos for the computer lover. Books,
information and new technology will usually be up for sale, even if
it’s not included in the computer auction.
